1962 New-Map Solyto
« on: May 01, 2015, 11:46:05 AM »
Not wishing to the add to the debate about what should be included in this section, but I'm fairly sure this auction was mentioned on here, regardless and with the usual caveat of not judging everything by what you can see in the photo,  this seems like a very reasonable price for one of these.

Lovely aren't they they would be disappointed with that sale price I think . I love a bit of signwriting and this just screams for it doesn't it . Is it true that the loading area was designed to be just deep enough for a families weekend French stick and or one string of French onions ?

I prefer the open backed model with canvas and hoops wagon style like Jeans one. The corrugated doors on this one do little for it.  The story I heard was that they were just big enough to take a solitary pig to market. If you put the french sticks in as well the pig would eat them!

Ah but if you put the pig , the bread and maybe a bit of garlic the pig would be stuffed  :)

Maybe the canvas one is to let the pong out where as the enclosed one is more suitable for the bread.
Here is the model I like.

I do like them, but they're one of those vehicle where they look better with a fair old bit of patina. I'm sure with the right sign writing, this one would look fantastic, though I'm not sure about that front bumper, Looks far to robust.

Too bad this came up before completion of polling, as judging by sale price, prior notification may well have made for a happier Forum enthusiast.

And we would know that the Goggo had already appeared on the south coast, was marked sold at about £5,500 only to appear and sell for £800 less. Still to much money in my book as a lot wrong and none runner.

ACA seem to be doing rather well for thier clients and now offer a Zundapp, Messerschmitt and Humpolini, in June.
