Rocking horses or repro. Sold in Germany by someone. I think the HTC Ltd ones are repro from stripped out dismantlement stock of Chinese units that were the incorrect spec in metal shape.

Neither am I. Not really a member of anything these days as the organization do not do what I want to do. Most spares I have or can source elsewhere, often cheaper. The way I see it they need me more than I need them, yet I pay to be told I cannot think/do certain things. A really great deal then! Bye bye Clubs, because most of them aren't anymore.

I bought a pair of these reproduced lenses from the Moc a few years ago and they are excellent. Now sold out. Somebody went to a great deal of time and effort to get these manufactured - and I guess this was for no personal financial gain. I spent ages sourcing the correct rivets to hold them in place, but I had to buy 50 whilst I only needed 4. I'd be happy to donate the remainder to the club if they would be of use. Had the rivets been available from the club I'd have saved myself a lot of hassle.
Without wanting to be controversial, the club has helped me restore my 3 schmitts which otherwise may have never been restored as they supplied me with parts I couldn't find elsewhere.
I can only thank the individuals who put a lot of effort into reproducing spares. Yes, the parts can be expensive but it's supply and demand. One could probably make a batch of 2000 numberplate lenses at a reasonable cost per unit and sell only 80. Not good business practice.
I guess there are differing views when it comes to clubs, but at the end of the day, when it comes to spares, it is the individuals choice whether to make/source their own parts or buy them from the club.
I still need another pair of these lenses and I believe there is another batch in the pipeline from the Moc. I am expecting to pay a realistic price for something that would otherwise be obsolete.
I appreciate the Clubs that I'm in and can only thank the people who put in a lot of effort with very little reward.
Thank you Owners Clubs and those who support them

The MEC had stock, which they sourced from me. Cannot say for the MOC but they might have sourced from Pete, who sourced from me. I was the one who broke up some 300 unwanted light units bought in error by a non disclosed source. I had the rivets, but as they were used (so weakly they would go again) that the retail outlets did not want them. Demand was such that I sold out in 18 months!

With respects to remaking this part, and many others. Without being rude, your thinking exposes the error made by many clubs. They do not trouble to look at what other vehicles, and therefore potential buyers, might wish to buy the same stock. (It might be they have stock to spare). In this case many Microcars, Motorcycles, Mopeds and Commercial combos use this same light, so the market is actually pretty big. That is why if you go to Mannheim you will find these lenses for sale from specialists. The trick is to know where they source them from to get them at a good price. Its not in the specialists interest to tell you that information as the loose profitability. A mutual (real) club would know this information and either have stock or direct you to the best and most accessible stock outside the club. Why the secret? If I know all this so do a lot of other people. Kerching not club, as nice as the folk within it might be. (Known Wynford for years and many a foreign rally together)

I was chatting to a longstanding and respected Club member at this year's Moc rally at Kettering.

He was involved in getting the previous batch produced  and he was telling me that the Club is trying to get a new batch made but it is fairly low on the manufacturers priority list due to the pressures of business and the value of the order. However signs are looking positive that a deal will be struck in the not too distant future. All going well the lenses should be available soon - I still need a pair.

I stand by what I say about clubs and their spares schemes - and yes, Helga will always be a legend.

PS  The quality of the reproduced lenses I bought previously was excellent.
