Oh No! Not another Peel thread. Yawn! :D :D   In answer, quite hard I believe but a DKW that is close but not the exact same model is much easier. This is what I have been told. Trident screens are just a flat piece of glass.

Does it matter which engine you fit now?

We found a correct 'Peel' engine in the skip pile at Mannheim one year so that goes some way to suggest an answer as to where many of them have gone. That one was sold to someone who had a collection of Peel bits, a wallet and a magic wand but since the engine was free I can afford to snigger.

Noticed in the paper waiting for a Chinky that Peel Holdings are trying to buy Shepperton Studios!

Bob's usual response to anyone who dares to post a Peel related thread.

I'm sure however should Bob happen apon and acquire a missing Peel a thread would be posted for all to see and pore over the pics..

For the interested the Peel motor is an 804 1600 4.2ps type.

But the Peel engines had a 4xxx.  So 804 1600 4xxx would be one
of the correct DKW type as ordered by Peel (approx 200 it is said).

So a bells and whistles car will have a Peel chassis plate on the body
and a DKW plate riveted to the motor with its number per above.

Australians could not give a DKW 4XXX if it did, apparantly. Cannot advise on the rest of the world but pertinent info!
