Met a Schmitt owner from Toulouse but at the time we were talking KR175. Do not recall that car pictured coming up in conversation though there was meant to be a couple of others in the area (French area being within 100 miles!). No idea of name now but it will be on file somewhere. He was chums with the Panhard man from Pescuadoir across the bridge from where all the rare scrap cars used to be. Fantastic to have seen this and of interest to us were a rare Bernadette scooter with fireman's helmet front wing, Terrot, Mochet, Arola and a special Simca Coupe. I nearly bought a La Licorne and Renault NN looking type doctors Coupe with the same 6.2lt engines in. Rather glad I did not really as very thirsty, firing every lamppost and actually not greatly valued as they are monsters out of date when they were made in the mid 20's. Both RHD as they were cars for the wealthy and chauffeur driven. The Coupe had been converted to a pick up in the war. Place was a gold mine and France used to be full of these caches of stuff if you could get in. Many are now dispersed as this lot have been netting the wise owner a lot of money.

Well, at idle, it sounds like a tractor, but at fast speed, it goes like a modern car! Stil sounds nice though :)

Nice photo, somehow a picture of two very different cars is always interesting, I nabbed this one near the Design Museum.

A few months later my girlfriend was chatting to a fellow on Facebook and she mentioned my bubble car. He asked if it was "One of those ugly Issettas?". When she told him it was a Heinkel / Trojan he was ecstatic and said they are one of his favourite masterpieces of car design.

It turned out that he is a designer at Rolls Royce cars!

Do not tell Gerry that! Velorex, the only car supplied with its own bin liner!

Cheers Rob, I'll take a screen shot of this page and keep the photos in my album, if that's OK with you!

Mine was not really too bad beneath the sad remains of the skin, and drove nicely. People could not believe their eyes when they saw that driving around Central London, especially when one of my drum kits was strapped onto the back shelf!

Look out for the Czecho Skins. MInd you skin head gangs seem to have died out rather pleasingly.
