Peel rumour/trivia
« on: August 07, 2010, 10:26:00 AM »
I have been told that Peels might appear on Dragon's Den. In what form and by whom I cannot say but two have been observed in the studios where they film.

I have just Googled Peel Engineering and a website under construction comes up with the name Faizal Khan as Marketing Director. It promises August 16th to be an interesting day. Is this linked to the above?

Stuart and I came up with a cunning plan. A rally for fake Peels, real ones can attend too. It will be held on the Ilse of Wight as it is a bit like the Isle of Man but cheaper.

Did Peel make Bentley fakes? Puts a whole new light on things.

Well if it is a success then why stop at Peel's own product base if rights or new designs can be created to good effect. There has never been anything wrong with a production development company. Many of the Micro Constructors were just that needing to keep there huge works employee base busy, Trojan, Hunslett, Bristol, Harland and Wolfe etc. while looking for products to make and contracts to fill. Such rambling business structures are probobly dead but the principle is just as valid as it ever was just on a smaller effcient basis. Anyone doing such a thing is to be applauded as goodness knows we need some new businesses created in Britain. I will watch with interest.

The Trojan factory site is now a retail park, with mostly the usual American companies there, so no chance of any more manufacturing. Most ex-industrial property is now retail or offices.
