Sod that for a game of swap-the-fanbelt!  :o   On similer subject, back in my  banger days there used to be a few folk who, even though they had water tanks in their car, replacing the original radiator, used to always leave the fan itself in place becuse it "looked good wirring round".  It sure didn't look good from my position when one of them was punted (gently) into my drivers door & due to the hight differance between our two cars (me Vauxhall Astra, him Rover P5 !!!) to suddenly have this somewhat scary 50,000rpm metal windmill almost right in my face!.  :(
